Alamode Cafe in Big Rapids

The Alamode Cafe is a cozy little breakfast and lunch spot. The food isn't really anything unique, but isn't bad. It is very small, so I wouldn't recommend going with large groups, as there may not be room.

Pasties with gravy is very yummy

The food was good, The place was clean, And the staff was good for the most part. The only thing that brothers me alot is that the parking and location kind of sucks. I would reccomend this place all day for good breakfast food. It's better than most sit down resturants in the bigrapids area.

The food is much better here than at the Rose Cafe.

As a regular patron I am very impressed with the adjustment they have made to the new location on North State Street. Same friendly service and excellent food. To the owner and staff keep doing what you do best, which is excellent food at fair prices and I think this move will prove to be a boon for your business.

Great food, had to do carryout, since inside dining is still closed, but we'll definitely be back and hope to dine in someday soon!

This place is absolutely amazing and probably the best breakfast I've had in Michigan. The pancakes are always cooked perfectly and the American fries are delicious. I'm pretty sure they kidnap god-tier cooking grandmothers to cook for them.

Found this little gem quite by accident while searching on Google for somewhere to have breakfast. When you walk in it is the cutest, cleanest restaurant. Even the bathrooms are decorated beautifully. The food was absolutely amazing, everything was homemade, so fresh and delicious. What made our experience really great though was our waitress Jenny, she was friendly and attentive and had a smile on her face the entire time. Wish we lived closer but every time we're near we will definitely be stopping by!

Excellent food. Wait staff was extremely busy- and it took 45 minutes to get our order. However, hands down the best breakfast fare available in the area. So even with the above stated negatives; still five stars.

Seriously the best beef pastie EVER! Don't have to go over the bridge! Friendly ladies. We'll be back.

The food was amazingly delicious. The service was fantastic! My waitress was super nice and checked on my boyfriend and I in the perfect amount of time. The food came out fast and mouth watery. I definitely recommend this place to eat. I hope to eat here while passing through Big Rapids again.

Extremely poor service. Our party had come in with 8 people, the small tables were not able to fit all of us at once, so instead we split into two tables. The servers had an issue with us splitting like that and taking up multiple tables (2). Over the course of our breakfast we were back talked and huffed and puffed at. While we were eating, the server asked us to move into one table which would not fit us all. She asked us this because there were people waiting, the other customers were only waiting for about 5 minutes. In a restaurant there is a thing called a wait when there are no tables available.Terrible service and would never recommend anyone to make a trip there. Thank you for your awful service!

Food was good but took a very long time. Apparently there was no mistakes because after 35 Min I went to the counter to see when the food might be ready. I was told if I was in a hurry I should have said something. So after another 10 minutes we got the food to go. So if you have nowhere you need to be enjoy.

Here is an objective fact: Alamode is the highest quality breakfast diner in all of Michigan, and they make the best pancakes in the whole state. The servers are friendly and passionate about their jobs here, which is how they can manage the copious amounts of foot traffic. Speaking of feet, my girlfriend is an amputee and even in this cozy (nice word for tiny) restaurant she's able to get around in her wheelchair. This is a great restaurant and a great getaway for anybody.

Our first time experiencing Alamode Cafe. There is something about the small, hole-in-the-wall restaurants that always surprises me! The breakfast was amazing, from taste, portions, quality, and service. Our server was extremely polite and helpful, and was never hard to find. We will be back without question!!!

There are charming knick-knacks and cozy touches aplenty, but the great breakfast options and affable wait staff have turned me into an avid regular of this fantastic restaurant.

Excessive wait time. Walked in and staff was rude immediately, acting as if a party of five was a chore stating that she had no tables for a party of five. Waited for 30 minutes and 6 people were sat before us. What a joke

This is a small establishment, but it has fantastic food at a great price. I am always pleasantly surprised how much I am able to get for my money. There is usually a wait of about 5-10 minutes, but it is very worth it. My favorite is the pancakes; they are fluffy and have a bit of a crunchy outside. They are fantastic.

I was lucky enough to catch a great breakfast at Alamode Cafe on a recent bikepacking trip up the White Pine Trail. Excellent food. Thanks for a great experience.

Such a cool place to have some breakfast. The wait was a little long, but definitely worth the wait. Very satisfied.

Went there for breakfast with my husband and their meals are quite large so we decided to split a meal. First they made our pancakes wrong, The waitress did not apologize whatsoever, she just looked at the ticket and she was like oh yeah the kitchen got it wrong and acted annoyed with us and then I asked for another plate and our waitress told us that they would charge us for an additional plate for my husband and I to share the meal. It came to 25.00 dollars for one meal and two coffee!! I definitely will never return!!

Very unhappy. Was excited to try this place, disappointed to say the least. We had a large party and sat in two different tables (the large round was not large enough for all of us and our food plates) some ordered pancakes, had to wait-then request syrup-to which the waitress replied with, “I’m not a mind reader.” They actually asked us to combine our 2 tables to accommodate a party of 5 that had just walked in. We were not even halfway through our meal and they pulled folding chairs to our table and started moving plates from the booth! In NC you have patience and wait until a table comes open-not make a miserable dining experience. I cannot believe we were treated so poorly. This place is a ridiculous establishment. Not good BR, not good.

Great breakfast place ! While there are a few reviews about locals getting the spotlight, I was pleased with this great local eatery.I am not a local but I am willing to understand how easy it is for this to happen. Maybe a kind reminder that we all want to be valued would help bring this to the staff's attention, and the owners. Doubt if any harm was meant by the nice staff yet this is a place that deserves a glowing report. The staff needs to step up and do their part to make sure their little home away from home is in a 5 star rating as it should be !

One of the best breakfast stops we've made in the area. Would definitely recommend this place to a friend. This is the perfect environment for families. All of the staff is friendly. I cannot say enough for how great the service was, let alone the food. No complaints! We will be back!
